community supported restaurant

From the FarmPlate glossary:

A form of community supported enterprise, the community supported restaurant model relies on investments from the community for start-up and/or operating costs. In exchange for their investments, community members often receive restaurant coupons, certificates or discounts. In many cases, the community-oriented focus of this restaurant model extends into the restaurant's buying practices and leads to more relationships with area farmers and food producers resulting in a greater variety of local food on the menu.
